Course Description
The Ultrasound for Rheumatologists and Musculoskeletal Providers course is a comprehensive continuing medical education program designed to enhance the proficiency of medical professionals in utilizing ultrasound imaging techniques for the diagnosis and management of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders.
Educational Objectives
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Compare the efficacy of MSKUS techniques to conventional radiography and select the best diagnostic and treatment modalities to treat their patients
- Demonstrate the correct way to handle the ultrasound probe and locate and recognize normal anatomy and pathology in each of the joints using musculoskeletal ultrasound
- Utilize ultrasound to track needles into joints and bursae by both indirect and direct guidance
Target Audience
This course is specifically tailored for rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, physical medicine & rehabilitation physicians, trainees, students, and other healthcare providers specializing in or with an interest in musculoskeletal care.
Beginner & Intermediate Tracks
This course offers both a beginner and intermediate track so that the hands-on workshops can be tailored to your needs and prior experience with musculoskeletal ultrasound. If you feel comfortable finding the basic anatomic views at all of the joints, we suggest intermediate groups which will also address more or less common findings and anatomy and pathology during the hands-on sessions.
